Implementation of the Bermuda Biodiversity Action Plan
Many of the actions and activities perscribed in the Bermuda Biodiversity Action Plan (2003) have been sucessfully completed or are ongoing. These activities are carried out by the many BAP stakeholder organisations and individuals, often in collaboration with each other and the Bermuda community.

What Happened in the Environment in 2010?
Highlights include:
- 2010 was the UN International Year of Biodiversity
- 4 Protected Species Recovery Plans published
- Climate Change report published
- Total Economic Valuation of Bermuda's Reefs completed
- A Marine Resources Strategy for Bermuda was released
- The Bermuda Plan 2008 was finalised
- The Environmental Youth Conference was held
- Initiatives to protect the Sargasso Sea were started
- Legal protection was given to the Eagle Ray under the Protected Species Amendment Act 2010.
What Happened in the Environment in 2009?
Highlights include:
- The Pesticide Saftey Act and National Parks Amendment Acts were passed
- New nature reserves were created by the National Trust and Buy Back Bermuda, and restoration of Cooper's Island began
- The Varroa mite was discovered in Bermuda's bees
- Somers became the first Cahow chick born on Nonsuch Island in 400 years
